A native of Taiwan, Chu-Han Huang began his studies with Chung-Chu Huang at age 5. Chu-Han completed his musical education in Taiwan until high school. At age 16, Chu-Han was invited by Prof. Boris Lvov to study at the Rachmaninoff Institute in Tambov, Russia. In 2004, Chu-Han moved to Boston and studied with Victor Rosenbaum at New England Conservatory where he received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in piano performance. In 2008, Chu-Han attended the University of Texas at Austin and received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree (D.M.A.) in piano performance in 2011. During his study at UT Austin, Chu-Han studied with Prof. Gregory Allen and was a recipient of the Mary Frances Bowles Couper, Sidney M. Wright, William C. Race, David Renner, and William C. Race Endowed Presidential Scholarships.

Chu-Han has won prizes at the Elinor Watson Bell Competition, New England Conservatory Piano Honors, nationwide Taiwan Piano Competition, the Taiwan YAMAHA Piano Competition, and the Kaohsiung City Cup Piano Competition.

Chu-Han has performed recitals in Jordan Hall in Boston, MA; the Rachmaninoff Concert Hall, Tambov, Russia; Bobson College, Boston, MA; Chung-Shin Concert Hall, Taichung, Taiwan; and Kendal at Hanover, New Hampshire. Mr. Huang has also performed Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 2 with the YAMAHA Piano Competition Orchestra.

As a collaborative artist, Chu-Han has studied with Anne Epperson and Colette Valentine at the University of Texas. Chu-Han has performed with string, woodwind, and brass players at University de Kunste, Berlin, Germany; Gotthelfstrasse in Basel, Switzerland; Alberquerque Convention Center, New Mexico, U.S. ; Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island; Boston University, Old South Church, Longy School of Music, Boston Conservatory, and New England Conservatory Boston, MA. He was a school accompanist at New England Conservatory from 2004 to 2008 and an accompanist staff at Boston Conservatory from 2007-2008.

Chu-Han moved back to Taiwan after completing the study of Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2011. As a versatile pianist, Chu-Han has performed 300 concerts which including solo recitals, concerto performances: Chinese Navy Band(2012 & 2019), Tainan Girl’s Senior High School Alumnae Band(2016), Kaohsiung City Wind Orchestra (2017), and chamber music: the flute recitals with the Prof. Vincent Lucas of Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (2019), Nobuya Sugawa(2018), Hiroshi Hara (2017), Prof. Jean-Michel Varach of Versailles Conservatory (2013); the performing tour of the violin recitals with Su-Lan Hsu in Taiwan and Tokyo, Kurayoshi, Japan (2016 to present). In 2019, Mr. Huang and violinist Su-Lan Hsu are invited by Kojima Concert Management to record Lekeu violin sonata, the album has been released in Summer, 2019.

Chu-Han Huang is an assistant professor of piano and currently teaching at the National Kaohsiung Normal University, the National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung Senior High School, Kaohsiung Municipal Hsin-Chung Senior High School, Hsin-Hsing high school, and Tainan Municipal Dacheng Junior High School.
