Bei-Qian Chen

Basson

Bei Qian Chen, graduated from Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung Senior High School, received her bachelor’s in music degree from National Taiwan Normal University. While in the university, Chen studied with Prof. HSU, Chia- Chu in Bassoon. She also performed with orchestras in school concerts on the Bassoon Concerto, and received several awards in different competitions during her school life. With NTNU BAND, C.Y.C. Wind Orchestra, and NTU Symphony Orchestra, she traveled to the United States, Beijing, Xi’an, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and performed in those countries. Chen held her own Bassoon Recital in 2012.

Not satisfied with her role as an musician, she furthermore received her master’s in Theatre Arts from Chinese Culture University in 2018. Now Chen is not only a member of KCWO, but is also invited as a guest bassoonist in local orchestras and chambers. On the other hand, she's also a competent technical crew and got herself involved in some of the quality productions in town.
