Bo-Rong Li
Euphonium

Originally hailing from Chiayi, Taiwan, Bo-Rong began to study Euphonium at age of 16 under Ray Kao. Soon after, he got the first place in Euphonium in Taiwan College Admission Practical Examination in 2017.

Afterwards, he studied at National Kaohsiung Normal University under Tzu-Hsiang Lin. He got the 1st Prize in the Concerto Prize while his first year in the college and performed Harlequin with the College Wind Band.

He has expressed his passion in euphonium playing since he relocated to the UK in 2022 and studied in the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Chris Robertson and Philippe Schwartz. During his studies, he auditioned for and won the Postgraduate Awards provided by Help Musicians. The audition repertoire featured Brilliante by Peter Graham and Summer Isles by Philip Sparke, earning him valuable support from the Help Musicians organization. He subsequently received Masters Degree with Distinction in 2024.

While staying in the UK, he immerses himself in brass band playing. After securing solo euphonium seat of Robert's Bakery Band, he performed as a soloist with the band in the Wychavon Contest in 2023, which they claimed the champion title. Furthermore, he contributed his musical talent to concerts and rehearsals with various brass bands, including Flowers Band, Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Northop Silver Band, Sovereign Brass, and Tredegar Town Band, to name a few.
