Loo-ming Lin
Clarinet
Looming Lin, born in Kaohsiung City, majored in clarinet and graduated from the Kaohsiung Yangming Elementary School Wind Band, the Yangming Junior High School Wind Band, National Feng-Shan Senior High School, and National Chung Hsing University Department of Life Sciences. He is currently pursuing a master's degree at the Music Department of National Kaohsiung Normal University, under the guidance of Professor Chien Feng Han.
From a young age, Lin showed a passion for music, with his clarinet studies beginning under the mentorship of Teacher Ming Jia Xiao. He has also received instruction from Professors Wei Leng Chen, Wei De Song, Di Huang, Florent Hèau, Thomas Lindhorst, and Sang Yoon Kim.
During his studies, Lin participated in national student music competitions and the Buffet Crampon clarinet competition, while achieving outstanding results. He served as the principal clarinetist of the Chung Hsing University Wind Band and performed Artie Shaw's concerto with the band in 2023. Lin is actively involved in renowned domestic events, including the 2024 NTSO International Youth Orchestra's tour in Thailand, and he has participated multiple times in the International Clarinet Music Festival in Taipei. He is currently a member of the Kaohsiung City Wind Orchestra.
