Yu-Chun Chiu

Jean Chiu, double bassist, first received her double bass training with Professor Chin-Lan Huang at the age of 17 and received her Bachelor’s degree from National Kaohsiung Normal University under the guidance of Professor Wu Jheng. Besides teaching, Mrs. Chiu often takes part in orchestral performances. She has played with Tainan Symphony Orchestra, Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, Kaohsiung Chinese Orchestra, Taiwan Artist Symphony Orchestra, and Taiwan Soloists Symphony Orchestra. She is now the member of Kaohsiung City Wind Orchestra and the low string sectional teacher of Kaohsiung Municipal Da-Yi Junior High School, Tainan Municipal Dongguang Elementary School, Pingtung Nan Chow Elementary School, and Pingtung Chih Cheng Junior High School.
