Yu-Huey Chen
Trombone
Yu-Huey Chen was born in Kaohsiung,Taiwan, started her music education ,majors in trombone since 13-year-old under the studio of professor Chang Chao Ming.
Ms. Chen entered the music class of Hsin Hsing Junior High school in 1989, later on she graduated from National Taiwan University of Arts with the achievement of second top grade. From 1988 to 1991, Ms. Chen won the first prize at Trombone section of the National Student Competition of Music. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she went abroad to study in France.
Among the year of 2000-2001,Ms.Chen received the Superior diploma at CNR de Boulongne-Billancourt and CNR de Rueil-malmaision under the tutorage of Professor Michel Becquet, A. Manfrin, J.Raffard, and Professor R. Katarzinsky.
During the study in France, she was active with performances, incurring invited to premiere the work “Coolip” composed by Etienne Rolin at Boulogne-Billancourt Concert Hall, giving concerts at Cultural Center of Paris representing by Bureau de Représentation de Taipei en France, as well as collaboration with European Youth Orchestra performing at National North-Germany Radio Orchestra Music Hall and Laeiszhalle. In 2001.
Ms. Chen held the position at the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, the year later, she won the principle position at the Ever-Green Symphony Orchestra.
Besides being an outstanding soloist, Ms. has led Sound of Kaohsiung Wind Ensemble as a conductor. Currently Ms. Chen teaches at National Ping-tung University, NanHua University, also the principal trombonist at the Kaohsiung City Wind Orchestra.
